Warmer Homes Scotland — Up to £10,000 for Low-Income Homeowners

Warmer Homes Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme providing up to £10,000 for energy efficiency improvements to low-income homeowners. It is separate from UK-wide ECO4 and is specifically funded by the Scottish Government. Warmer Homes Scotland is for low-income homeowners. Eligibility is means-tested and properties ideally should have an EPC rating of E, F, or G. You must own your home — it is not available to private renters. There is no strict benefit requirement, unlike ECO4, but income levels are assessed. Rural and island properties are particularly prioritised.

Both schemes can fund similar measures, but they are separate programmes. ECO4 is UK-wide, funded by energy companies, and requires specific qualifying benefits plus EPC D-G. Warmer Homes Scotland is Scottish-Government-funded, means-tested by income, and targeted at EPC E/F/G properties. Some properties may qualify for both. ECO4 is generally worth applying for first if you receive qualifying benefits.
